My grandma lived with us when I was in high school. She would cook it about once a month. Never had a problem with it but I'm not a picky eater.

There is no logical reason to eat a blood filtering organ....none. We all have our lines in the sand.

My mom used to make it for my Granny, father, and sisters. I can't stand it and neither could mom. Has a metallic/copper taste to me. Disgusting. It was the one dinner when mom would make something else for herself and me.

I prefer duck over liver. Liver don't taste like the bottom of the lake. But I have eaten my share of duck as well. And dove.... and pretty much anything else a person can shoot in North Texas. Except Deer... The last time you offered to discuss your opinion on duck, you werent very nice, but Im forgiving so Ill ask here. How was the duck prepared? Were they divers or puddle ducks? Ive had the liver-tasting duck before I learned how to cook it and some ducks taste better than others, depending on what they eat.

Liver is a requirement for making proper dirty rice. And I still occasionally crave liver and onions with cream gravy. And I love fried chicken livers... extra gravy for dipping.

I agree Mark. Growing up my mom cooked it once a month. The only food I have ever eaten that got larger as I chewed it! After about 20 chews it was about the size of a baseball in my mouth.

Liver and heart are both extremely dependent on the skill of the cook. Ive had good and bad versions of both.
About the only organ type meat I wont touch is tripe. Ive tried it many different times but I just dont like it.

Tripe is terrible.
I thought it was the lining of a cow's stomach?

I wish I still had it
