This has got to be one of the silliest trolling threads ever. Yes, I'm sure the 250 Pro XS is going away as we know it. There will be a new one, and it may be a v6, or v8, likely will be a 4 stroke. But Mercury will certainly continue to support the current platform, with warranty and repairs. For as long as there are warranties existing, and likely well afterwards. He77, we can still get parts for our 99 225 EFI, and it's almost 20 years old, and has been out of production for over 16. To think that because they are no longer offered that parts and warranty will be an issue is silly. Bet I can get Taurus parts from Ford. Or Trailblazer parts from Chevy. You would be amazed at what the dealers can no longer get. Try getting an abs controller for a 2004 vette or XLR. They will make the parts available as long as suppliers make them . You'll be able to get hard parts like pistons, cranks and heads but electronic parts will be hard unless rebuilders get after them. The tech is changing fast.
If you're not happy naked you won't be happy with clothes on. Don

They made a gazillion pro xs engines, doubtful parts will be hard to come by. As far as the new 4 stroke Mercury goes, it has me excited, i thought I was going to have to go to yammy, nothing against them just always been a merc guy. Wonder how a Vexus will do paired with that big black mercury ? I hate to buy first year engines but I may give them a look .
