Daiwa Steez if you can afford it. Otherwise, Tatula SV.

You didn't give any parameters for price range. I own the Tatula SV and sure, it's a great reel. The smoothest for pitching? Wouldn't even make the list if you were looking for THE smoothest reel. Smoothest for under $200? Maybe in the conversation. The Metanium MGL is the best reel I have in my boat for pitching and it's not even close to the Tatula in any way, including price. If you have the funds that's your winner. If you want something more reasonable, the Tatula is a great choice.

My favorite is the Metanium MGL. That reel is great for pitching! If I were budget conscious I'd have to go with a Daiwa Tatula SV.

I guess I'll have to get me one of the Daiwa Tatula SV's then. I'm rocking a little Shimano Casitas that I got from Academy for my flip/pitch reel.

Smoothest reels I have found are Sixgills. Vote is still out on overall quality, but if you want smooth they make my Shimano Casita feel like a washboard road.

Daiwa Steez is my favorite for pitching. A Lews Super Duty or BB1-pro work well for pitching and they are quite a bit less than the Steez.

I have several of the Tatula SV TW reels and i use them for long distance casting more than pitching.

The Tatula CT is a very nice reel for the price also.
