First day on the water with the new Ultrex and have 2 questions.
1- How do you raise the motor so it runs shallower?
2- After its been in the water and I raise it to stow, water runs out of the shaft from where it meets the head and motor, this cant be normal right? Where the shaft meets both ends, water runs out after stowing.
The draining water is annoying once stowed and driving the boat, it ends up in my face.

There is a collar on the shaft that has a nut and hand grip bolt. Loosen it and set the height, then tighten it back to keep the height.
As for water draining.....mine doesn't. Never has and I've had it since the first week they were released.
Better get that looked at.
Edit....
There is gonna be a cup of water or so that gets behind the prop each deployment, but not a significant amount and the same as other trolling motors.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.

There is a plastic collar with a knob that you loosen and you just slide the shaft up or down to adjust the height. Im not sure what you're referring to regarding the water draining, I dont have anything abnormal there.

The water is getting in the shaft and running out both ends when stowed.

So what do you think about it, all of it? Are you loving it (the boat) or will it take some time.

Much better ride and had it to 73 today before the 3 footers had me shut it down. More storage than il ever need, and big front deck. So far its every thing I wanted. Beautiful too!

If you're getting water coming from the shaft where it meets the head that is a problem and I would get that looked at quickly. MinnKota has an excellent customers service and I would call them first. Had zero issues with my Ultrex and it's a real game changer. Sorry, couldn't help it.
