I have to be honest. I always think those quill ones look nice but don't know how to use them. So I always stick to the ones I know.

I always end up breaking the quill floats by accident. I use 2" cigar floats for heavier stuff and the ice fishing floats when I'm pegging my float with a 1/16 jighead or less.

I love quill floats! But I like them painted in flo yellow on the top! They are the bomb with the light Jigs that I use.....thanks for asking...
Normally I fish balsa floats, which are almost as good as the quills...as quills are very hard to f8ns and extremely rugged, compared to others..cant stand the ones that melt when exposed to heat and plastics...
