Granted the weather was [censored] this past weekend, but I've never had much success at Fork. Don't know what I'm doing wrong there, but I struggle at that lake and it's apparently really good. I have no trouble at any other lakes, but Fork stumps me, no pun intended.

My advice is too hell with Fork. Go somewhere and save your sanity. I think the pressure has taking its toll.

It can be humbling even at times people(a few people) are bragging about their results. Best advise? Either SLOW down your fishing or rent a guide......or do this^^^^^^and go somewhere else.

Ive been fishing it weekly for the past six weeks and have noticed a decline in numbers. Started off catching 20 to 30 fish a trip. 3 to 6 in the last couple of trips. Size has increased however. I spent this past weekend on PK. Even with the bad weather it was well worth the three hour drive to the other side of DFW. Most fish caught were still prespawn including a 7 pounder.

Good advice here. Go to PK where the water is clearer and the fish bite. May be a longer drive like it is for me but worth it. During the week hardly see more than 6-7 boats and the scenery is outstanding. Half the time I catch stripers mixed in with the bass.

I think everyone should go to any other lake, especially when the shad spawn starts. Fork is just a social media driven lake and the 3 true Sharelunkers were a hoax!

You gotta spend a lot of time on Fork to do well. I have never done much good there myself outside of some guide trips or the one summer we fished 3-4 times a month back in 2013.
For the most part, I am lucky to catch anything when I go. I try to do stuff different than what I know the crowds are doing, but it rarely works out very well.

Dont sweat it swampy. I fish it nearly every week and for me this has been the toughest spring since the first year or two I started fishing it. My normal spots havent been holding them and with the high water I was never able to find them really staged up in big numbers like years past. Sunday was slow until around 5 and then all of a sudden the shad started coming randomly to the surface all over my buddies cove and we put 6 in the boat just piddling around. Before that I had 1 from 11 till about 2:30. Took a couple hour break to visit and went back out around 4:30. All fish came on flukes fished slow. Had a big one wake a chatterbait that had been busting shad in front of alligator grass by a ramp and turn away right when he got to it. Followed up with fluke and nothing so kinda wierd bite.

Fork was fishing a lot better three weeks ago.The shallows were a lot warmer. The last few weeks the rain has been cold, making the backs of the creeks cooler than the main lake and muddier. I think the rain and the cold fronts need to stop ,then the bite will pick back up. Think maybe the temp needs to be high 60's to 70.Here lately I have been baffled like most folks, grinding out 8 to 10 fish on a long day.

Yea highest water temp I could find was 64 on Sunday. We fished basically sun up to sun down and managed 1 fish. Had to have been the cold front that completely shut then off, but you would think I would have gotten lucky throwing that many casts
