I caught a handful this afternoon at the more productive holes, but that may also have partly been because I wasn't really fighting for space with anyone else today. That's fine, more fish for me. Hope things pick up after the rain.

Our run down south ends around the first of April. But we start catching good numbers as soon as late December. It's all about weather temp and water flow. Last week of February and all through March is normally good fishing here. But here again, water flow and temp is what it is all about.

Not to mention Lavon dam was dumping all month, so a ton of fish went up there. Nothing to see up there. Fish nonexistent up there. Look somewhere else.

The water level is about 5 feet higher than normal currently. Fishing should be more productive a few days after the rain.
Wind from the north, fisherman does not go forth. Wind from the south, blows the bait in the fish's mouth. Wind from the east, the fish bite least. Wind from the west, the fish bite best.. __________________________________

Any advice for a newbie? I am 0 for 2. Like last time I ended up getting hung up and jigs tangled in the snags in the water. This time I tried starting from the Rowlett Creek Preserve and walked south. Lots of spots that looked good, but no fish.
