I have an 80lb thrust MK Terrova that quit working yesterday. For a while, power would cut off occasionally and I could shake the plug and get the power to return. As of yesterday, my shaking and jostling of the plug no longer works. Is this more than likely the plug and/or receptacle? If so, has anyone replaced them before? Is it pretty simple? Thanks in advance.

Get multimeter, check for power at the plug receptacle. If receptacle has power, open plug and check for lose wires. If no power at receptacle. Disconnect your batteries, pull the panel that the receptacle is in/ if not in a panel pull the receptacle directly. Pull on wires to see if they are seated. If wires pulls out reseat.
If seated firmly, reconnect battery. Puncture wires with multimeter at receptacle and check for voltage. If voltage is present, replace plug and receptacle.

Check boat back side of plug for corrosion.

Yes they are pretty simple to change out. All you need is a screw driver. Loosen screw slide wire out and reverse the process in replacing. Just remember where each wire went. You probably have to push in and twist to connect. One of the prongs could be bent and not making good contact.
