Keep trying. Friday it just felt like it was going to happen. I had been catching them on a red crankbait on the rocks. When we got to the flooded brush on the rocks I just had to try it. After the first one I felt like I had them figured out. Rocks got the crankbait bite and brush and rocks got the jig bite. Dad was picking them off with worms in the sandy gravel areas. Up to 5 pounds but just not the frequency I was getting around the rocks. Was able to get some on a spinner bait in the sandy areas up till 10 or 11 but after that it stopped.

Good job and so it begins. I have about 1,000 jigs that I bought before I figured out all you need is green jigs and black/blue juggle

Congratulations on the bass!! It was an easy transition from Texas rigged worms to a jig. Im just a bank fishing guy who loves pitching jigs to cover.

Congrats. Just one of those baits you have to keep in your hand

Ive yet to conquer the jig. So many people use them but I just cant hang with them.
