Had Todd Steen and his Dad out for a teach trip today. Thank goodness it was a teach trip or we would have went for a boat ride. After that big rain I could not find any fish. They have moved from where they were and I did not find where they went. I have always said do a teach trip and we will find some fish along the way. I did not today except a couple of sandbass and a couple of yellow bass. I guess I was due a dud been having great trips. Now the question is how long till they wake up and come back to their spots. The longer I fish the less I know. Johnny

Did you see many shad? I was out there 2 or 3 weekends ago and they were pretty hard to find.

Johnny, we experienced the exact same thing here at Cedar Creek Lake after the rains.

Belton had the same experience. I guessed they were finally stimulated to rush to areas near the spawning grounds. Time will tell. The cold temperatures moved the shad off the bank on Belton.

I found a few yesterday evening. Full of eggs too.
Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, he'll be gone every weekend.

Lots of shad 24 to 27 ft Deep Just no fish around them. Johnnu That is deep! I would have figured they would have went shallower by now.

Ditto on Lake Livingston, but just wait a few days and those white bass will be back in the home stomping grounds,
