Okay, mechanic left me with a primer solenoid off a 1981 instead of the spring choke on the 1978 Johnson 115hp which is this power head. After much research have concluded he really installed it wrong and motor will not idle without having the red knob turned to the 4 o'clock position. So I have ordered replacement carbs, and would like to install the primer fuel hoses straight into the bypass covers versus drilling holes in the carbs and installing after the throttle plate. I do not think I need the recirculating hoses installed. Just a way to prime/choke then run normal on the carbs. Has anyone else here done this. Pics are of the primer hoses the mechanic installed into the carbs. The carbs and most of the parts are off my old power head Evinrude 115hp 1981.
