If your boat drifts away from the shore DO NOT SWIM AFTER IT! We came across this guy the other day in the Devil's River above Lake Amistad. He was completely inebriated and totally exhausted. He was too weak to put on a life jacket or catch a throw cushion. Since we weren't too far from land we towed him with a rope to the river bank. He would not have lasted much longer.

Don't know what to say. Could say drink and go to jail but doesn't really apply here. Glad you saved him.

Saw a drunk dude jump in off the dock at Jordan Park and said he was going to swim to Wolf Island. Has to be close to 2 miles across there. A couple boats tried to convince him not to. No idea if he made it but I never heard of him drowning.

Saw 2 guys try to swim from Chandlers to Dalrock park one day. Dallas park police caught them half way.
