If not, contact MotorGuide tomorrow and they will get you a replacement remote out to you under warranty.

I called Motorguide today and the customer service rep told me to try this but to hold the left and right arrows while reconnecting the ground cable. She said if that don't work then I need to bring the trolling motor and remote to service center. Tried it 4 times and no luck so I guess I'm dropping it off tomorrow. Hopefully they can look at it right away and verify its just the remote. Wish me luck.

This is all new to me, but if the foot control works and the hand held doesn't. Pro line would be my first stop. cheers

I'm dropping it off there at lunch time today.

Any serious angler should buy a spare remote control unit. (that's what I did) They are only Around $85.00. If you had another remote you would know what the problem is just by switching remotes. If the foot control works it probably is not the motor. It's a lot of trouble hauling the motor and remote in to the repair shop. (and waiting for it)

While I agree with the spare remote for now its no biggie. TM is on a quick release mount and the shop is right up the street from me. I will say this, when the remote quit I really missed the jog feature. The foot control has spot lock but none of the other features of the handheld remote.

Hate to use someone else's thread but the jog feature is awesome. And Im glad I purchased the longer shaft. Wind was blowing into a bank yesterday. It would have taken an anchor to fish it. I was able to stand on the back of the boat and move in on um.... That was fun! thumb

Good chance they might have an extra there, them some good folks to do business with. Not to long ago I stopped by on a Saturday morning after fishing. He made me a deal I couldn't say no to, I had already done the research. I dropped Double Time off in the front yard, drove home to get the money and when I returned he had it ready to go.

They have Minn Kota stuff too for the folks traveling thru that need help...And David, this isn't local to you. If I'm ever your way and need help...

Well I dropped it off at Pro Line during lunch and picked it up after work, it was the remote after all. They even had a replacement in stock so I'm all set. Great guys there and a nice little shop.

There is a CVS across from every Walgreens. A Home Depot across from Lowes and a Race Track across from a QT. I'm good here and would love to have you stop by if ever in the hood....Competition makes the world go round and round. cool

It was a sensor board in the foot pedal and not a motherboard.
