Myself, Clayton aka Wildman of the Navidad,and Steve fished some area creeks the past few days and the bite was "ON FIRE"! We caught a bunch of very nice Bluegill,LM Bass,Redbreast,and Hybrids. Most of the fish caught weighed well over half a pound. Fat and some full of eggs. We fished the creeks three days and caught well over 40 nice fish each time. Fish were holding by brush piles in 2 to 4 feet of water and close to the bank. Worms were used with both bottom and float techniques. Spawn will be soon. A few were kept for the frying pan. Getting in some GREAT creek fishing. It just don't get any better!

Man you guys caught some big ones!

Sounds like a great time. We have had plenty of rain up here, all y'all need to do is build a pipe and we could probably ration out a little water. Pictures look good (new camera?), and I like the hybrid in the first pic along with all those fat RB's.

I've been catching a bunch of small bluegill in the creeks. No half pounders but they are taking a topwater fly so it's been fun. I need to take a trip out to my secret creek that holds big redbreast and redear to see if they are active in there.

Slab season is upon us

Thanks Jamie and Clayton for the replies. Jamie: The fish are very active on the creeks down here. Bass are nesting and once they are done the Bluegill,and other sunfish will start their spawn. Going to see a lot of big fish being caught this year!



Side Note: Would love to get about 3 to 4 inches of RAIN this Spring. (Double Rain Dance).
