I have an old ('93?) Johnson motor and I need a new battery. What size should I get? The battery that was on it when I got the boat isn't a marine battery and it's got to go.

Get a marine dual purpose. While a group 24 is fine for that motor it can be a bit on the small side if your live well pumps and electronics are going all day. If theres room a group 27 or 31 will be better suited.

Forgot to add, it's only a 25 HP motor.

Go to Walmart and get the group 24 marine cranking. Has 1000 cranking amps and is like $65 I think. Bring your old battery for a core.
