Looking to go to Lake Athens on Friday for the first time with the wifey. Any hazards while running from ramp to worry about? Any help would be grateful.!

Just stay in middle of lake and you can run all Way to dam or Northeast arm. Not many hazards at all.

You can run most of all of it. There are some no wake, no ski buoys in some creeks. Stay off points like normal and you will be fine.
