I am going in fo this procedure tomorrow morning. Detaching retina in my left eye. Vision has been getting progressively worse. Not a 100% corrective procedure but will prevent it from getting any worse. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitrectomy

My dad has had both retinas detach. The first one was over 20 years ago and I guess the procedure they used back then was still relatively new. They implanted some sort of band in his eye to correct it. It was very invasive and serious. It worked.
The second time, there was a newer, less-invasive procedure that was performed. It was also successful. He hasnt had any issues with either retina since.
Good luck.

I had that procedure done just about one year ago to repair detached retina in my left eye. Surgery was a breeze, I remember being semi-conscience through it. The worst part was the next 72 hours which involved keeping my head facing straight down for the first half of the period, then turned to the left for the second half. Before you have the surgery figure out how you are going to sleep (you won't sleep very well) with your face pointed straight at the floor. Some folks buy or somehow get access to massage tables. It took the nitrogen bubble about 3 months to completely dissolve, which was a bit annoying, but I was left with 20/25 vision in the eye. While the bubble is in your eye you can't materially change altitude, so flights are out of the questions along with road trips to the Rockies. Best of luck to you.

prayers for you. Man that looks gross. I've had optic never surgery on each eye twice and while I was under anesthesia not sure I could do it again after finding out how they did it.
