I have a boat on order and should be getting it soon. I am going to upgrade the TM on it and have been looking at the XI5 but have come across the XI3 today and it looks to do the same thing as the XI5 but for a few hundred dollars less. Does anyone know the differences between the 2?

I don�t have experience with the Xi5 but I put a XI 3 on my boat few weeks ago. It is 70 lb thrust rather than 80. The mount is different in that it is straight instead of with the hook on the front like the Xi5. Other than that I think they are the same. The XI3 has the anchor feature with the jog function as well as memory for anchor waypoints and trails. It also has a heading lock and cruise control. It will also link to your Lowrance HDS gen 2 or better and the Elite 7 TI. Mine works perfectly and will never go back to a conventional tm. My boat is a 19 ft bay boat and it handles it with power to spare.
