We did great Friday evening and Saturday morning on Lake Belton with a total of 101 fish. The white's were huge!!

Saturday night had a crew out and only managed 15 keeper crappie and a few whites.

Sunday only fished from 5:30-7:00pm and white jigs brought us 41 BIG keeper Crappie. They were 5' deep in 20' of water.

Great weekend of fishing and fellowship. Way too much fish cleaning though.

Those dang coons at the marina!! Smart and talented. They got 16 crappie out of my basket one night, the next night ate a whole pound of minnows out of a zip tied lid on minnow bucket. 9 have paid the ultimate price since the crappie caper. Of course only during trapping season and with trapping license....

Of course, outside of trapping season...use a havaheart trap, baited with Nilla Wafers...you can relocate the rest of them...not sure why, but coons just love Nilla Wafers! An old GW gave that advice to my dad about 40 years ago...specifically targets coons...works like a charm...just make sure you put a couple outside the mouth of the trap...get the sweet tooth going...

coons have cognitive thinking abilities. I saw a band of hombres steal a whole garbage can one night. roflmao

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

I'm pretty sure trapping license and season only applies if your selling the meat or pelts. I wouldn't see keeping them out of your fish any different than keeping them out of your chicken coop. There's a well fed otter at Fork! He cleans out fish baskets all the time in little mustang!! roflmao

I'm taking some kids to Belton for next weekend.

Were those caught from the shore/pier or out in a boat?

I'd love to get my little ones on a few.

Nice Haul !

Boat and marina. Marina is private though. Should be able to catch from shore in the cedar creek area.
