I had to manually stow my Ulterra. The instructions say it now has to be reset by a MK service tech. Does anyone know what that requires as far as time and money? It's the peak of the bass season and hoping this will be a quick procedure (done while I wait). I'm in the Pleasanton, Texas area (South of San Antonio.

What happened to make you manually stow it? I had to do mine after a transducer cable caused it to get stuck. It took me 3 weeks to get it back and it wasn't fixed properly so I took it to another shop and it took about 1 1/2 weeks. It will depend on what parts it needs and if they have them in stock. They have to re calibrate it so I wouldn't plan on waiting for it.

Gentlemen, quick question and it seems like I am in the right place to ask it. I am thinking about pulling the trigger on a Trolling motor with GPS position lock/ electronic anchor feature. Are you happy with your ulterra's I am leaning towards a Terrova but am also tempted by the motorguide brand because it is a little cheaper. Any advice?

I have had the Terrova (non bluetooth model) and it is a good unit. The new model is more accurate and I think they improved the stowing of it. I now have the Ulterra bluetooth model. I love it. It is super accurate on spotlock and I never have to touch the thing to deploy or stow it. I fish alone a lot. I now just unhook the boat and let it slide into the water. Grab the remote, drive it to a safe location and spotlock it. Once I park, I just drive it back to pick me up at the dock. Motorguide makes a good unit also. I think they now have 2. Minn Kota also has the powerdrive with spotlock which is cheaper but not near as sturdy of a unit as the terrova or ulterra.

Get the Xi5 and a LiftSaver. Or get the Terrova and a LiftSaver. Either way, you cant go wrong.

I started to go with the Terrova but after watching a few videos, I decided to go with the Ulterra. Not having to get on the bow to stow or deploy in rough water was the deciding factor for me going with the Ulterra. I love it

Let me know if you remember. I took mine out today and it was working fine then when I decided to stow it, it went 3/4 of the way up and started beeping an error. I read that to reset it, turn it on wait 3 seconds then push the button 3 X in 2 seconds. Nothing. I also read to make it stow, hold the button for 10 seconds. Got it to slowly go into the stowed position and now it has the power light and a red light that stays on. I am pretty mad at this point. A trip was cut short after 30 minutes on the lake. I can't trust the thing now. I like to go to Fork for a couple of days. I'm not paying gas, hotel, launch fees, etc. to have it malfunction 30 minutes after I get to the lake.
This will be my 3rd time to go to the shop. I also used 2 different shops to do the warranty work. The first time was close to a month, the 2nd a little over a week and who knows how long this time. It has literally spent more time in the shop than on the water since I bought it. I've had 2 full days of using it on the water since around October. I'm calling MK this time on it and want it replaced. I'll never trust this one again.
