Standard is the way it should be. We receive the same amount of daylight, regardless of what we do to the clocks.

What would be the advantage of eliminating it? It would eliminate the need to change time twice a year. And as already mentioned, changing clocks doesn't change the amount of sunlight/darkness in a 24 hour period.
