Texoma? Or someplace else?

Murray in OK, just a little north of Texoma, without question.

Any tips for fishing there? I wanted to go myself several times but the shape of the lake has me at a loss as to where to look

I'd guess they outnumber largemouth 5 or 6 to 1. Don't expect any beasts though, lots of 10 - 12 inch fish.

What about Belton? I've heard that lake has smallies too? Definitely has them and I think Belton is the best odds for catching a smallie....that is completely within Texas boundaries. The answer to your question "Best Smallmouth Lake for Numbers" assuming you want it within a couple hours of the DFW area would be hands down Murray and then Texoma. Of course if you are willing to add an hour or more to that drive: Broken Bow, Hugo, Pine Creek.......
