OP BigHead248 Angler Joined: Aug 2016 Posts: 376 Waxahachie, TX	Joe Pool never stops impressing me! For a city lake there sure are some quality fish to be caught. The water temp around the lake varied from 55 to 57 on average, but I found one cut where the water got up to 59 in the back. I hung around that area for a while and after I determined it had fish I began picking it apart with Donald Harper's "Baby Doll Bladed Jig" in 3/8 oz. They liked a slow retrieve over flooded timber in about 5ft. I was keeping it close to the surface and got to see nearly all my bites including when this one nailed it. If you're looking for a quality hand made bladed jig don't hesitate to try one of these. He uses wire tied living rubber skirts that look awesome and the double split rings give it a great twitch on a pause and go retrieve. The Berkley scale said 10.02lbs and she was easily an inch longer than my 24" chec k it stick. She was released after the pics to be caught another day. Last edited by BigHead248; 03/04/18 11:39 PM.
