First post!
Ok I'm having new duck boat built this spring. I still have my lowrance HDS9 and 5 from my old bass boat. I want to use them for fishing after duck season and use the 9 for gps navigation during duck season. I have the ram mounts for both and all the wiring from each also. I guess my question is are their shoot thru pucks today that can be used on aluminum boats? Or will it be best to mount the 9 transducer on the transom like normal. The transducer now for the 9 is that long dam thing I guess for side imaging. During duck season it will have to go or be mounted in a way that does not get beat up. (stump fest during duck season as we do not worry about stumps while on the way in at 3-5 am) Well we do but just the ones we can see. The long transducer was mounted on the jack plate on my old boat. New boat will not have that (mudd motor)
Any feedback welcome, thanks

Mount that transducer on the jackplate with a Transducer Shield and Saver.
