My new Nitro Z19 has a gray bottom no scratches noticed My old nitro had the grey bottom and now that I have black I realize how good that grey was. I like the way black looks but I think grey is the best option. If I get another boat it will have a grey bottom I believe

How does a black bottom boat fish better? Thinking is black doesn't spook fish as much Really. I think I might get a wrap for the bottom of my boat in a crappie, shad, bream pattern. Maybe that will attract more schools of bass to the boat. Maybe a red, brown, orange wrap for spring time and firetiger for muddy water.

I once had a school of spots hang out under my black bottom boat for cover. Couldn't run them off even after catching them for about 2 hours and couldn't get a bite more than a foot from the boat. Just saying.
Or maybe they thought all the scratches and dings were some kind of bait. Ha

As mentioned earlier it all scratches the same one just shows up more than the other. Just like water marks. Personally, I'm a white bottom guy and I can't say I haven't caught fish because of it.

Kinda sparked my interest.. if you look on the elites, only 7 of the 110 guys run a boat with a white bottom...

I have been a black bottom boat guy for a long time and one unique thing I have found was the smallmouth will go under the black bottom boat and for whatever reason they stop fighting. You still have to pull them from inder the boat but they don�t seem to fight. When I had a white bottom boat that didn�t happen.
I am sure there will be a bunch of people attack this observation, but it is simply what I experienced. There maY be no scientific basis for it, just sharing what I have seen.
