Just seeing how many people are still looking at these forums and flyfish. Who knows maybe this will be a great way for meeting new fishing partners. I'll start, I'm in Alvarado.

Seems like there are a number of regulars here that are more or less up your way. TFF in general and the fly sub forum have a more freshwater focus and inland feel than a couple of other Texas based sites Ive been on.
Im on the coast near Freeport.

Im in Houston, but just moved here after living in Austin.
Railfly, youre really close to glen rose and dinosaur valley state park if my texas geography is right. That park provides great access to the paluxy river and some awesome wet wading, especially at this time of year.

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Early on I decided that fishing would be my way of looking at the world. First it taught me to look at rivers. Lately is has been teaching me how to look at people, myself included. - Thomas McGuane
