I guess what I don't understand is why all the animosity towards AR-type rifles? Tactically speaking, within the confines of a building you are probably better off with a pistol. I wouldn't want a rifle until targets are beyond 30 yards or so. With a minimal amount of training or practice one can shoot a semi-auto handgun just as fast as they can the rifle.
Remember back in the early 90's that guy that shot up the Luby's? He had two 9mm pistols and killed 23 people. Injured another 27. Back then AR-style rifles were illegal. So how could there be mass shootings?
It just simply doesn't make sense to go after the tool. I know this whole "what if" thing gets silly, but I'd cordially disagree. Unless you train a lot most folks can't hit the broad side of barn with a pistol beyond about 10 yards. Take a random person off the street and see how much lead they can put in a pillow case at 15 yards in 1 minute with a pistol vs an AR. AR wins 95% of the time. Not to mention its got 4 times the kinetic energy on impact to really tear things up. 15+ yards isn't unreasonable in a classroom or down a hallway. That said to be perfectly clear. I'm not for banning them. I'd just like to see the age to purchase raised to 21. Actually I'd like to see a tax document that shows a net contribution, but since that's not possible I'd take 21.

All the guns I own were designed and manufactured to kill deer/elk/game, not humans, but whatever.

The house democrats introduced a bill to ban ALL semi-automatic weapons. Let that sink in a bit.

again, why is the argument about limiting ONE gun AR's the next comment is about banning all guns?? NO ONE HAS EVER in the history of this argument said ban all guns? It would impossible and no one is arguing that. Obama is not building death camps and Bill Clinton is not coming for your shotgun. The discussion was brought up about the AR no other weapon. The truth is that it is the "barbie doll" of the gun culture and people have made it some sort of twisted symbol for the US. sad, we used to be about more than a gun. No matter what you say, it won't stop there, at some point, they will want to take away the next gun, then the next gun, then the next gun. Your right, its should be more than about a gun, but the left is making it all about a gun.

The house democrats introduced a bill to ban ALL semi-automatic weapons. Let that sink in a bit. Never let a crisis go to waste. "The bill prohibits the sale, transfer, production, and importation of semi-automatic rifles and pistols that can hold a detachable magazine, as well as semi-automatic rifles with a magazine that can hold more than 10 rounds. Additionally, the legislation bans the sale, transfer, production, and importation of semi-automatic shotguns with features such as a pistol grip or detachable stock, and ammunition feeding devices that can hold more than 10 rounds." http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/house-...article/2650087

You know, a firearm is kinda like a parachute... If the time ever comes, that you really, really need one, and you don't have one... Chances are, you'll never need one again.

In a crowded room scenario, I would still say there wouldn't be a bit of difference in the carnage caused by the pistol vs. the AR. At most, maybe some injuries from the pistol would die from an AR wound but that is a pretty subjective argument.

Once again, a bunch of nuts that don't know what AR stands for.. you can do just as much or more damage with a couple of semi pistols with extra clips than you can with a rifle at close range...

can we stop the "comin to get ma guns" hysteria? or if we pass one law they will pass another? or we used to have guns in our trucks? The reality is we just have 10X the population it pretty much comes down to a numbers game and it only takes one. If they banned all semi autos today we would have enough weaponry already in the system to last for the next century.

Well I've done my part. Just ordered 4 Aero M16A4 striped lowers on sale for $55 a piece. That'll bring the total number of ARs built since Obama took office to..... Let me count real quick.... 21. No chit. At one time I wanted an AR for every member of the household. Now I've got almost every single caliber of AR you can get. .224 Valk and .22 Nosler are as wildcat as I'll get though. I just hope liberals get as much enjoyment from them all as I do.

They must be getting a kick back from the firearms manufacturing industry, why else would you do something as pea brained as this bill. This will help Remington come back from bankruptcy.
