I'm looking to upgrade the rod/reel setup that my wife uses. She currently has an Abu Garcia Ike Dude Spinning Rod and Reel Combo that is a 6 ft medium power and moderate action. She has had that rod/reel a couple years and it's getting close to falling apart. I recently bought her a Pflueger President reel but now I'm looking to get her a new rod. She mostly fishes with crankbaits but I want a rod that she can wacky rig a senko or even drop shot every once in a while. I was looking into the Falcon Bucoo 7' medium heavy with a moderate fast tip. I want to stick in the $100 or less price range for this rod since she doesn't fish as much as I do and I rarely use spinning rods. Any suggestions or have I already found the rod to buy?

St Croix has several models that I'd highly recommend (Mojo and Premier) but all are in the $130 range. Catch a sale and it could be different. Or, take a look here and see if anyone is selling one.
I did want to add that I think she might be happier with a Medium action, not an MH, perhaps something in the 6'6" length.
This is more a recommendation if she uses proper technique with spinning tackle, lets the rod load up and tire the fish a bit, then reel down on rod to take up any line won in the tug of war. If she uses spinning tackle like a bait caster, then MH might be better.

AllStar Classic series spinning rods at Academy Sports--usually $49.99 but see them on clearance for $29 regularly. She might prefer the ASLite series from All Star Rods

I got one of the Lews rods for my daughter and she loves it. The handle is like a golf grip and she landed a 9 lb hybrid on Palestine with it.

I just bought an Academy Ethos H2O Nano spinning rod (reg $99.00) and a Quantum Energy spinning reel (reg $69.99) for less than $50 out the door. Academy has 50% off the clearance prices right now. So....around 75% off.

Dobyns Colt or Fury series 703sf, or if she wants a shorter rod, 663sf.

My wife wanted a pink rod and I got her the Okuma Calynn which can be found on Tackledirect for $50. Took me forever to find a pink rod that was not either a piece of junk or >$100. If the wife doesn't care about the color then I'd go for the Bucoo for sure. Love my Bucoo spinning rod.

The lews combos are perfect. My wife has them and I use them sometimes also, great for the cost.

I have a cashions spinning rod that my wife likes to use and I like it too. I made the mistake of urging her to learn to use a bait caster...now she'll grab one of my rods off the deck and I cringe thinking about to backlash I'll be picking out..or the lure to the back of the head.
