Audiology.org Ear Candling Ear candling is dangerous (even when used as directed by the manufacturer) and serves no legitimate purpose and there is no scientific evidence showing effectiveness for use. It is of significant concern that some ear candles are advertised for use with children (including babies), potentially placing them at great riskwith no known or documented benefit.

Q-tips after the shower every night. Once in a while Q-tip with a little Listerine. No generic cotton swabs either, Q-tip only.
The box specifically has a warning to not insert into the ear canal.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Q-tips are one of the only products that I buy name brand only. None of the knock-offs are anywhere close n quality.
For cleaning out wax and funk I much prefer a paper clip or bobby pin that can scoop and pull out wax. Then I use the q-tip to clean out after. When there is any significant buildup I feel like the q-tip pushes it in further.

do you wet your qtip first? I've always done that when cleaning my ears, but have recently found out that freaks some folks out and they only use dry ones.

I Q-tip after every shower. Every now and then I'll dip a Q-tip in hydrogen peroxide, shower and flush my ears good with hot water, and Q-tip again.

When I talk to people sometimes I think too many people have been pushing their Q tips too far in. Others I think need to push a little further.

Been using Q Tips for over 60 years. Ears are always clean and no problems. You will definitely know if the Q Tip goes in too far. It only takes once.
Biden famously said in the New York Observer, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

I quit sticking those things into my ear past the ear lobe. I had my right ear stop up one time from pushing the wax into the canal using Q-tips on a regular basis. After trying everything (and determined to not go to the doctor out of self-pride), I laid my ear on a heating pad for about two hours and then squirted warm water into my ear with an ear squirter thing, and two wads of wax came out. It was nice to hear again.
