 Q-tips and ears - Poll

It has come to my attention that some folks don't clean their ear canals, just the outside with a cloth. Then when they have issues, they go to the doctor to get their ears cleaned. That don't make any sense to me...

an ex once had the cotton come off in her ear requiring a dr visit. does that count?

After every shower....I can't stand water in my ears.
I even use a ear candle when things get "stuffy" sounding.

Pros of clogged ears- can't hear the nagging. I developed selective hearing many years ago. I learned from my dad. LOL!

Qtips are not for cleaning ear canals.
The doctor uses a tool like a smooth metal scoop to scrape the wax.
I do the same. Have never had a problem.

My grandmother always said to never put anything in your ear but a washcloth and your elbow.

anyone ever try the paraffin wax ear candles from GNC? some funky stuff gets sucked out of there... Those things are a gimmick. Just think about it you hold a wax funnel in your ear and it sucks out the wax? What you see when you unroll it is wax from the funnel itself. My wife did one this weekend and I told her it's a crock. She looked it up and agreed with me.
