I use Big Game for all hardbaits and Pline CX (fluorocarbon coated) for soft plastics

I was one of those guys that made a late switch to fluoro. I used almost exclusively trilene big game and braid on my jig rods.
The lake I fish the most has really clear water. After getting outfished several times, I did an experiment. I spooled half my rods with fluorocarbon and half with mono.
First thing I noticed was the sensitivity when fishing T-Rigs. It also didn't take long to realize I caught more fish on the fluorocarbon.
I like to travel around and fish several different lakes when given the opportunity. Three of the lakes we fish often are Alan Henry, Amistad, and PK. So I'm not going to change out my line everytime I fish a new lake. I keep braid on one rod with a fluoro leader and have 1 rod spooled with mono for topwater. The other 11 rods are all spooled with 12, 15, or 20 lb fluoro.
I buy the 1000 yard spools of invisix off of amazon and don't find it that much more expensive. There was definitely a learning curve when it came to tying knots, backlashes and constantly checking my line for nicks and kinks. But a few years later, I see no draw backs to using fluoro only.

I'm old school. I use only monofilament line. I use Berkley 20lb xt and Berkley 25lb Big Game. I have caught Black bass to 13lbs and Blue Cats to 20lbs with no problems.

I use Fluorocarbon and love it. I am just a weekend warrior, and don't do any real tournament fishing. You can easily stretch your budget by backing your reel 50% with mono and the rest with Flouro, I have been doing that for years. I quit using 20lb because like they said above I hooked a jig with it one time and it took me 20 minutes to get it back, eventually breaking a 10lb limb off a tree. I hook a steel wire in 30' of water at rayburn last spring on 15 lb test and you know how I know it was steel wire? I pulled it off the bottom. there was so much force on the pole I had to hold onto it with both hands, I still don't remember how I finally got unhooked, but that stuff is strong. major strong. it does stretch plenty, sometimes more then mono. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wREH7DcFhME&t=39s (fluoro stretch test) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-wKljsO5as (mono stretch test)

I think those stretch stats are a little misleading.
I would like to see stretch data before breaking at very low weights.
There is no doubt fluoro is more sensitive. Im betting mono starts stretching when very little force is applied and gradually stretches until it breaks. Fluoro probably stretches nearly all at once at higher forces immediately before it breaks.

Mono most of the time. Braid when I'm in sticky situations. Fluro never. Big game is very tough and cheap
I got all day Iām retired

If $$$ on the line then I'd use Flouro. For us weekend anglers Big Game or a copolymer, such as P Line or Izorline, is fine.

I hate losing big bass. I fish braid or mono 95% of the time for a reason.
