I've been looking into getting a slide-in camper for exactly this reason; I could tow a nice size fishing boat with my truck and still have a reasonably cofmy place to sleep..

Be very careful before the purchase, I had a bad memory about tires blowing out because of added weight. Finally decided a Casita was a lot more useful, even parked and used on the beach streets in Texas and California.

I used to stop by the Homestead, Florida Walmart on the way to Flamingo, Everglades. Walmart was packed with summertime campers that couldn't handle the mosquitoes and drove back to civilization or were coming back from the Keys. Noticed they don't allow it anymore because of city ordinance.

You buy HD tires and correct size truck for the load.

Don't go pricing them out! Scary! BUT so worth it!

I got mine used and bought a truck to fit it...and I doubt I ever sell it.
