Wait till the water hits 50 degrees, that's when the craw fish start coming outta their huts. That jig bite gets really good then. Not to say you can't catch fish on jigs right now, but you have to put that jig on their nose to get-em to bite right now. I'm catching a few on jigs but most of my fish are coming on moving baits or jerk baits right now.

I have fished a jig religiously on Ray rob since about November, I've only had a handful of good bites. Last week I had a bite on a black and blue jig/watermelon trailer that was extremely violent, total annihilation! For some reason Ray rob bass aren't big into jigs. That jig bite is addicting. Also the bite has been Tough regardless of bait.

I caught this one at RR this past Wednesday in 45 degree water. As Delvec stated, the water temperature isn't warm enough for crawfish to do their thing yet, but some are starting to move around. The color of the crawfish in the pic is a good indication that black, blue and green pumpkin are good colors to throw right now. Who knows the what species of bass is in the pic?

Inhaled that jig, good job, maybe spotted bass? That's not a jig. I know it's hard to make out, but it's the pincer of a huge crawfish. It was black/dark green with a small spot of orange on the tip. They'll stay dark like that for a while. Yes, spotted bass. The single spot on the tongue is a dead giveaway She was bigger than she appears in the pic. Pretty markings.

Great job, Ive started walking the shorelines looking for crawdads to give me a better idea of what they are eating. Well if its possible I walk the area surrounding the ramp.
