Go with RK, just my opinion but all from LFT look the same to me. Sorry but I have never seen another one like my two from Lake Fork Taxidermy. I would be careful of Ron Kelly. When his shop burned in Emory there were lots of people that lost their trophy. Then he moved to a location south of Greenville on HWY 69. When it folded more people lost their items. If you want a dead fish stuck on your wall with it's mouth open, then it shouldn't be hard to find someone to do that for you. If you want a work of art, then go visit the guys at Lake Fork Taxidermy and tell them exactly what you want. So you're gonna hold it against the man because his shop burned ? What's that got to do with his talent as an artist and creating replica's ?

Since he had inadequate insurance on the building and it's contents everyone that had irreplaceable trophies in his shop lost their trophies. Let me remind you that this was not just fish, there was some very impressive deer and one world class bear trophy in that building. So absolutely I am going to hold this against him! Would you like to defend his action on his 2nd building and the trouble everyone had with getting their money back from him on that one as well?

Ron has done a few for my dad and I, including a 4lb crappie from Palestine and they look great. A bunch of the fish in the marinas and restaurants around lake Fork have his work in them. Never had any issues at all

LFT is the last place Id ever ask to do my fish. They are priced high, customer service sucks, replicas look nothing like your fish, and it takes forever. Theyre on fork so they think theyre s**t dont stink. They need to humble themselves a little. Id go with Ron as many have stated.

You said that! Not me! So who is your psychiatrist? What I am going to hold against him is that people had to call the Sheriff's office to get their items? Good luck with Ron but I bet you can kiss your fish and your deposit GOOD BYE.... I lost two fish that I had left with him that my sons caught on a trip to Fork. They were lost in the fire. My DEPOSIT was lost in his wallet, never to be returned. I got NOTHING.....but phone recorders and excuses from him when I finally found him again at a tackle show a few years ago.
My sons fish were burned by the fire, I was burned by Ron...
Edited by ezbassin (06/21/07 10:46 PM) Well, I made a 140 mile round trip to Ron Kelly's Shop and found it locked up and a FOR RENT sign on it. I stopped in Emory and rumor has it that he has moved to Greenville but no one knew for sure. If anyone has an address or knows where his new shop?? is located I sure would like to know of it. If you know of anyone that had a fish at his place, they like myself have probably lost it. I have talked to a Justice of the Peace and was told I could file a small claim and get some costs back. I do need to know his current address. It is a shame that a man with the talent that he has,but he lacks the integrity to do what should be done. I wonder if he thinks that word of his doings will not get around to the fishing public.
