Most companies seem to be offering bonuses instead of pay increases. The bonus is a one time thing, while the pay increase is permanent. Who do they care about more, the loyal workers getting a step up for their standard of living or their shareholders/corporate profits. Most of us know the answer to that.

Oh, I did find out the raise I was given in September hasn't actually been reflected in my pay, yet. I should probably pay closer attention to those things. hammer

Yep, and we know why the lowball quotes are possible. That is the next problem to solve.

Ive no idea how anyone is still lowballing jobs... you cant swing a dead Derek without hitting 5 construction sites, and youre pretty much being interviewed by any applicants rather than the other way around. Pay rates for unskilled labor is pushing $15/ hour. We arent cutting a nut on any of our bids.

Your HR is slacking......which is typical for that department.

Open your eyes & look within, are you satisfied with the life youre living.

No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life. Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs.
