Looking for real world reviews on this motor. Any mechanics out there have advice or insight to longevity? I know we have been dealing with the same 2 for years. Everything I can find bad seems to be on the 300, not the 250 and below hp.

Getting my popcorn ready for this one. My only gripe with the G2 is I still have 9 more years of warranty on my G1 so I don't have a lame excuse for the wife on why I need one.

I have had a G2 for 2 years. The only thing I have ever had was a loose connection that threw a code first 10 hours. After that it has been amazing. It planes my Ranger like no other I have had before and is wonderful to drive. My only complaint would be the oil fill should be more easily accessible

I'm down here on the coast near Galveston, and have read/heard a lot of issues with the G2....
