Can anybody tell me why my trolling motor turns to freely? I have a Motor Guide Brute 67# when I use the foot control it will turn to easy and turn to far and when I try to turn it back it's like it's slipping and the directional arrow gets off it will be pointing the wrong direction. I took the cover off the top and it doesn't look like any of the teeth are missing but when using it's like the gears are stripped out. I can make it work if I turn way slow but in the wind it's impossible. Does anybody think it's worth repairing? Also where the small diamater rod goes in the larger one there is barrings looks like a few balls are missing.

I put more pressure on that bearing to add resistance to mine when I had a foot control MG a few years back. I gave up on using/depending on the so-called indicator with light. What a joke!

Goto Http://www.trollingmotorparts.com and email them with your problem. They were very helpful to me. They are located near Lake Fork or you can try Boris Marine Electronics in Azle. I have used both. Boris actually did warranty repair on my motorguide TM Parts.com gave me free tech support for almost the same problem you have. woot I'd use either again. thumb
