I've been on a quest to enter a double digit bass in the Share-a-lunker Program...but so far have fallen short by less than a couple of pounds. Picked up 8.3, 8, and 7 pound fish today. The fish are in prime spawn condition...and cruising in 6 to 10 ft of water next to shallow spawning areas. A big shiner imitation dredged with an intermediate line a couple of feet off the bottom seems to be effective...although this is not numbers fishing; it is quality over quantity. Probably another maybe 4 weeks left in this "season"

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
