Or you can buy a tohatsu 250. It's the same thing as a Honda.

Just thinking in the future. If I was to buy a 15 year old used boat. I would have less concerns buying one with a Honda motor. Same with buying a car. I would not hesitate to buy a Honda motor with 100,000 miles on it.

How you maintain the motor means more than the name on the cowling but it's been proven that a four stroke engine if maintained properly will always out last a 2 stroke. Probably why automobiles all have 4 strokes.

Across the board. I know that some of the parts on my Honda can use Yamaha parts. I had my tilt and trim worked on several years ago and they told me it had the same trim parts as a Yamaha.

My Optimax is being totaled by insurance due to a blown power head. If anyone needs a 2011 Optimax 200 with 270 hours for parts. I'll be ordering my Honda next week.

Insurance is covering a powerhead? You sound like everyone else I talk to. I have had multiple mechanics argue that my insurance wouldn't cover repairs after they already approved the claim. If you don't have Allstate you are doing yourself a disservice.

Thats pretty strong, I have farmers and unfortunately have had so many claims on my house I have gotten to know them way to well. Had a fire that resulted in 80k worth of damage plus being out of the house for 11 weeks. They went above and beyond my expectations in that situation. Might need to call all state for the boat though.

I have had a 2003 TR21 with a Honda 225 on it for a year and a half now and coming from many 2 strokes over the years I am still in shock as to the fuel mileage and reliability it has. I was just at Amistad for a team tourney and filled the 55 gallon tank to 3/4 which I have never done and ran from Diablo East to marker 28 (a 28 minute run) wide open and fished different spots all the way back and once on the trailer I looked at the gauge and it is just under 3/4 of a tank. I agree it is not the fastest as me and partner, live wells full of water and a little limit and way to much tackle, the whole run stayed around 62 mph. I will fish quite a few tourneys before getting fuel again. If I ever need another motor it will be a Honda for sure.

Saw this thread and asked Paul Elias and Brandon Card their experiences in a BassBlaster: > Elias (Honda): “Around 70. Some guys are getting 72. Not the fastest, but I’ve fished the Elites 6 years without a service crew.” > Card (Suzuki): “Guys want to know [that speed] but it varies so much and none of us [Elites] are set up with a light load. But the fastest I’ve had it was 76+.” http://bassblaster.rocks/crazy-cool-baits-chain-smoker-pattern-palaniuk-rod-loading
