I was kicking around the idea of getting a vacuum sealer, esp since Bass Pro is having them for 30% off right now... just seems like between buying bags and the sealer it would take awhile to recoup investment besides clean-up etc... You can seal anything, it doesnt have to be ground beef Just like milking anything with teets? has to have nipples not just teets

In my experience Grass Fed is the only way to go...and you can get it for 5 bucks a pound in many varieties of fat content.
I did a little research about why grain fed a year ago or so ...Omega 3 and Beta-carotene to start with. I don't eat enough to be concerned with the difference in price - my body can feel the difference.
Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

Somewhere that actually cuts their own meat, around here it brookshires, not sure who still cuts in metro mess. Albertsons, Kroger did at one time but idk anymore.. they will grind you up anything from cuts you want, and unless it comes in a tube and they grind it it is going to be a guesstimate on fat content from trimmings through the day..its pretty easy to see how lean just by the color

Check out Local Yocal in McKinney. It's near downtown - I'm pretty sure you can buy sides of beef in packs if you want to go that route to get it for cheaper. http://www.localyocalfarmtomarket.com/

I do enjoy a good Squirt now and then.

I find anything leaner than 85/15 to have little flavor and tends to cook up dry. We dont eat a lot of ground beef, but when we do, 80/20 is what we use. Just personal preference.

Why would you want to eat beef that lean?

When I can find sirloin for 2.99/lb, I buy in bulk, grind it, and vacuum seal it. On sale at brookshires at that price now,,, quite a drive for cocodrie
