I am in the process of purchasing a Helix 9 mega chirp DI G2N and a Helix 7 chirp DI G2N for the bow. I think these two units can be linked but I'm unsure of what cable or cables to also order. Thanks in advance....

Thanks 44, don't I need some type of "Y" connector?

Depends on if you are gonna use a separate transducer for 2d readings then yes but Humminbird does not recommend using the "y" cable with DI units. For the bow unit you will want to contact Humminbird c/s and swap out transducers for the trolling motor version if you want to mount a transducer to it. Just be sure to not open the transducer or the hardware bag it comes in

The smartstrike has the same mapping detail and features as the other map cards. It does not however have the satellite overlay like the lake master plus. It is good for fishing new lakes. But the lake detail is the same as the other lakemaster map cards but it only has the HD lakes on it. Lakemaster has not done much mapping here in Texas. Their Texas lakes are mapped by a third party. I use both navionics and lakemaster due to the fact that navionics has better detail on some lakes than lakemaster and lakemaster has better on other lakes.

Both have pros and cons and one may outshine the other on a certain lake or areas. My advice would be to look at the Navionics webapp and see the latest and greatest from them for free before making a purchase, as well as doing the same with LakeMaster. https://webapp.navionics.com/#boating

Can an XM-9-MDI-T transducer be epoxied on the inside of the hull?

Can an XM-9-MDI-T transducer be epoxied on the inside of the hull? A Humminbird DI transducer used to be shoot-thru compatible several years ago, but that is no longer recommended. The high frequencies don't shoot-thru very well and that is before the MEGA frequency.

Thanks Wayne, could I use one of the Transducer shields and mount to an 8" Slidemaster or would that not work on plane?

I have a Helix 9 G1 on the console. I want to upgrade my bow to hummingbird with DI and GPS. Networking nice but not have to, what unit would be best value best performance? Thanks for opinions.

Thanks Wayne, could I use one of the Transducer shields and mount to an 8" Slidemaster or would that not work on plane? Unless you have a very long jackplate that reaches close to the bottom of the hull, the transducer won't have water contact when on plane.
