Any of you use rear reel seats? I like the feel of a fly rod especially if I'm only gong to use one rod. Do any of you use a rear reel seat?

I have a couple and they work great if you dont have to reel much. It goes cattywampus if you have any weight from anything of size . 15' and less its the way to go. Deeper than that I like regular rod set up

thx, eric. I guess the reel that far back you loose a lot of leverage. That's what I'm noticing with the switch from my fly rod to proper crappie rods.

I have used rear reel seat rods for many years. Below are the 3 that I use. I really like them when fishing 15' and less, and especially in the spring time fishing in less than 4'. I pair it with a micro reel since I am normally just lifting the fish in the boat using the line as opposed to "reeling" them in.
