How is the Shad hunt right now? Any areas that are holding bait consistently? I am sure they are deep.

Before and at daylight around boat slips (careful crappie condos are net eaters) is about the only shot I know shallow

Thanks I have a big heavy net so dont mind going deep just havent ever fished the lake.

If you are putting in around Sky Point Marina off highway 276, the "short bridge" to the north is usually productive.

I did catch one shad in my cove this afternoon, and a nice channel cat on a dock hook

I'll be looking for larger shad when I go Saturday. My taped net has 5/8" mesh and the small to medium shad swim right through it. PMs are appreciated!
