I think you have quite a few in the DFW area and most lakes in that area offer hand tied jigs in their bait shops / tackle stores. I'm in the dust bowl out west, but can recommend a few in your area...OR search Facebook for all kinds of jig makers in DFW. Slab Syndicate Crappie Jigs Go get some slabs!!

Browse thru the jig makers section listed above these threads. Plenty of examples there and contact info. Pepop's jigs are great, Jerry's Jigs at jigginjerry.com, Skip48 makes great jigs at thumpitjigs. There's plenty to choose from and they are all very well made jigs.

$2.50 a jig by Jerry. No doubt awesome looking jigs. If people want to pay that per jig then good for Jerry. Free country spend your money how you see fit.
$1.25 for a premium jig with eyes by Pepop. Jig cost really depends on style your wanting. But $1.25 is most expensive in my experience to date. I can send a picture of any jig I want or request a color combination that I want and Pepop has always delivered. Great jigs.
Nothing against Jerry, but I will stick with Pepop.
I've heard Skip makes great jigs too.
Good Luck and Tight Lines.

Thanks for that, Hogon. As far as I can remember, youve never ordered from me, even when my jigs were $1.50. Anyone with Facebook, I addressed this last year: FB Tax Rant If you dont have Facebook, in summary: I PAY TAXES! 10% federal excise tax 8.25 state tax 22% average hit at end of year taxes At the point of sell, I pay FORTY PERCENT taxes these other guys dont pay. I tie jigs for a full time living and dont evade taxes. My $2.50 jig nets me the same as the guys not paying taxes charging $1.50. I can charge a premium rate for a premium product or I cant afford to make a living. Those who only pay state taxes are BREAKING THE LAW. You support who you want to support. I take great offense to this uneducated, worn-out argument. If everyone was legal, prices would reflect that. Do you realize it took me almost SEVEN months to get my 637 approval!? I had an IRS audit and all kinds of hoops I had to jump through. Compare apples to apples, please?

Jerry it was not anything against you personally and I thought I made that pretty clear, but evidently not.
I ordered my Hand Tied Jigs from Matt Carroll when I did order some in the past.
I stated pretty clearly that it is a Free Country and if you want to charge $2.50 a jig and people are willing to pay that then by all means good for you. I meant that. If you can charge more then by all means go for it.
I never meant for my post to be offensive or a personal attack on you in anyway, shape, or form and if you took it that way then I sincerely apologize to you.
As for your Facebook rant I don't do Facebook and therefore have no idea what your talking about.
I'm sorry you took my post as offensive.
I guess your the only Jig guy that pays taxes. Wow.
Back to the original thread feel free to buy your hand tied Jigs from whomever you would like there are several good folks out there tying Jigs. Jerry being one of the many.
Tight Lines!

I guess your the only Jig guy that pays taxes. Wow. I really don't have dog in this here but Jerry is like me it is better to do it the right way than to pay all the penalties when you get caught and believe me one day they are all gonna get caught.

You can see the quality and time that goes into them when you get a pack. It's like art basically, and they work.
