One that will land the species of I am primarily fishing for. I personally use a different landing net for all species of bass vs catfish.

http://www.frabill.com/nets-accessories/...xed-handle.htmlI bought mine at academy for a better price than frabill is asking. Pull the back cap and put do a 550 cord retainer about an inch long and put it on a 36 inch net zinger. I landed a 43 lb cat that used to be in my signature with it along with many other great catches. Hope you find what fits your needs!

I like the shorter handled nets as well, much easier to control as it feels like an extension of my hand. I have an older model Frabill, similiar to the one above, but it has the much larger rubber mesh netting which makes getting hooks out easy. Guess they quit making them as I have looked and can't find them anymore.
