I used to take a Z Pac but he said for me it would not finish the infection off.
If I get a sinus infection my doc will prescribe Levaquin now.

This was mentioned above. I use this everyday. It has made a huge difference.

Don't take a Z Pack unless its the last antibiotic on the market.

As mentioned, Mucinex will break up the mucus but it is more beneficial for chest congestion. Use pseudoephedrine to help dry up your nose and relieve the pressure. You can get Mucinex with psuedoephedrine in it. May have to take Benedryl if severe allergies or get a steroid shot or nasal spray. I don't like to use steroids unless Im absolutely sure it is not a bacterial infection. Just because the antibiotic prescribed doesn't seem to work, does not mean it is not a bacterial infection. A simple nasal swab by your Doctor can sometimes diagnose and determine what antibiotic will work.
Nasal washes may help, but the effects last only minutes. Also, if you have a bacterial infection and you spray a wash up your nose, you will spread the bacteria everywhere the wash goes.

Its not a sinus infection, but got something similar to bronchitis here that's kicked my behind since last Thursday. Running fevers around 101, chills, cold sweats, and feel like I'm drowning. Completely lost my voice. Bad juju. Thing is, I don't normally get sick, and this is the second time I've had this bug. Last time was back in October and it knocked me down completely for a week.

The use of a steroid nasal spray like beconase, Flonase, nasonex, and etc., do help.

Kattelyn, I hope you get well soon. You may need to go to the doctor if you are still running fever.

i got one of these last month and it's done us good - even though i am a clean freak, this keeps the air nice and super clean...this is def worth the money (i had been looking for over 6 months). if we lived in the country, i wouldn't worry about having something like this - but we don't, so i'm just playing it safe.

Amoxycillian 500mg, 24hour Allegra D, and Vitamin C any other suggestions.

I had a similar experience last year. To me any of te above mentioned looks fine. I hope you have consulted a doctor. Because different people react differently to the antibiotics. The one which helped me recover was Norflox , However, I would suggest that you only take these after consulting an expert. I doubt just because it worked for me if t would work for you too. Wish you a speedy recovery smile

My ENT told me to get bacitracin ointment (not cream) and put it on a qtip and to swab your nose as deep as a qtip will go. Works fast to knock it out.
