I think Nolan's presence has been underestimated. He brought a toughness and grit to the team, especially amongst pitchers. The Rangers starters in the first WS run were a bunch of spares that didn't amount to squat before or after him. When he walked into the clubhouse it was an immediate level of respect that Noone else could muster. I remember reading a story that he met with all the pitchers in spring training that year and said you are all going to go out and pitch tough and make quality starts every night. Not saying he was the only reason but I think he had a bigger part in it than all the JD lovers want to admit. I also think JD has done a descent job. All GMs make mistakes.

Rangers will NEVER win a WS with JD at the helm. You are correct he has ruined the Rangers .

I love Nolan as much as anyone, I think he had very little to do with the Rangers success, that team was pretty much assembled when he got here, much like the Houston team.

They still need a 1b and a cf, plus another pen arm or two. In addition to a sp. You don't think Joey Gallo can play 1st base? I think Gallo, Oder, Andruss and Beltre is about as good a infield as any in the American league.

They still need a 1b and a cf, plus another pen arm or two. In addition to a sp. You don't think Joey Galloway can play 1st base? I think Galloway, Oder, Andruss and Beltre is about as good a infield as any in the American league. I think Galloway ends up in LF

Galloway is a helluva name... he was a great sports talk radio host. Wasn’t much of a wide receiver. GM gave up a ton for him.

Here’s the problem with you and your ilks argument. In 2016, the rangers had the best record in the AL. In 2017, the astros won the series. Both of those things are because of Nolan. Nolan’s residual awesome propelled the rangers to the best record in the AL even though he had been gone for quite a while. However, you and your buddies argument is that I guess the Nolan awesome ran out when the regular season ended. The post season of 2016 is when JD took over, and Nolan’s awesome was cast away. Go ahead. If you want to claim Nolan was responsible for the regular season, then take credit for the post season.
