Love the Kistler Feel-N-Reel series of rods. Perfect for crankbaits. I have the 7'11 med heavy and can achieve very good distance with 5xd's, 6xd's etc. Very sensitive. Definitely my favorite cranking rod.

I am looking at the Falcon Cara T7 173DR 7'3 MH. Deep Runner model. Any others model s that fit the situation. Falcon XD Cranker 6-179 is a better choice for the application described. Cara, Lowrider, or Bucoo SR. Depends on how much you want to spend.

I LOVE the Dobyns 805 CB RM for that range of baits. IT is light, handles big cranks well and is VERY responsive. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

+1. This is the rod I have and I matched it with an older Lew's BB1 with 3.8-1 gears.
