I'm headed to lake whitney this weekend to do a little striper fishing but I would love to catfish for a few hours as well. I've never fished for catfish out there, specifically blue cats so I have no idea where to start. Any info is appreciated. Will they be under the the striper schools feeding?

Look on the river channel ledges near Steele creek, and white bluff. The fish should be holding tight to the ledges
There's some that drop from 17 straight to 40 ft.

One small Blue not big enough to warrant a picture. Bait was an issue for us because I tore my deep water net. So I had to throw a ton with little reward.

Ive been on that lake 10 times with a boatload of bait. Never caught anything except one time when the sandbass were busting the top of the water i caught several but i fished there all day plenty of days and only caught one small catfish. Best lake for swimming though, and cliff diving.

I can catch striper there, but absolutely blank on catfish when I try to fish there.
