Just stop by the Tackle Shop when you are there
Ask James for some help. Great guy,,,, he will put you on fish

If you've already talked to James then you probably won't find much better info on here.

We will be coming by more than a few times while we are there. One of the guys I'm going with is a huge fan of you guys and says the shop is the best tackle store he has ever been to and will ever go to so I looking forward to seeing that too. Can't wait.

Assuming you will launching at the county ramp--turn right coming out of the cove and fish the trees and brush on the right and first big point on the right heading up in Valano Creek. Flip brush hawgs and jigs in watermelon, PB&J. Squarebills in white/splatterback & chartreuse/black back. BIG spinnerbaits also work well. When you make the big RH turn then left in Valano there is a rocky ridge parallel to the bank on the left out about 50 yards or so. C-Rig and deep cranks work well. I have learned that the fish like the brush better than big trees there. Considering the water level is up there will be no shortage of brush. Heading south fish the timber on the US side with just about anything. Use HEAVY line and be prepared for fish to fight harder than you've ever experienced. I think they feed the fish there some kind of drugs---LOL---Good Luck!!!!
